What do we do here?

Our goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment in which clients can explore the issues they are facing. This means that our counselors strive to help clients achieve meaningful change in their lives. We are not advice-giving experts who believe we have all the answers.

What to do when you come for the first time?

When you come for your first session be sure to arrive early for your appointment to allow for time to fill out intake paperwork. Be sure that you know which building to go to for your counselor and bring your insurance card with you. If you are coming to building A, check in with the front desk when you arrive so that you can begin your paperwork. If your appointment is in building B, your counselor will meet you in the waiting area.

What does it mean to be a Christian Counseling agency?

As a Christian counseling agency, FCC believes that all people have inherent dignity as image-bearers of God. Because of this we welcome clients from all backgrounds and will do our best to help each individual that seeks us out. Our faith is an important part of who we are and naturally informs who our counselors are. However, we do not have a specific agenda for our clients as far as what they should or should not believe. We are comfortable incorporating matters of faith as part of the counseling process, but the client will determine how much these matters are discussed based on his or her own personal beliefs.

What if I don’t want biblical/Christian counseling?

We respect our clients’ beliefs and do not impose our beliefs on those who seek our help. It is completely acceptable for a client to not wish to have Christian or biblical counseling.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most major health insurance. It is always a good idea to check with your insurance company if you want to know specifically what they will cover.

How long does counseling take?

The amount of sessions varies for each client. The typical guideline is at least six to eight sessions. However, that number varies depending on the specifics of each case.

How does confidentiality work? Specifically address children, parents, and couples.

Confidentiality is an extremely important part of the counseling process. Each counselor is bound by HIPAA laws and will review the specific limits of confidentiality with their clients. When children are in counseling, parents have legal rights to records so they will have access to those records if they choose to request them.
